What to do if the Ooni-supplied regulator doesn't fit onto your gas tank
The Ooni-supplied regulator fits onto gas tanks with push-fit connections. If your gas tank has a screw-on connection (pictured below), the regulator won't fit. You can either purchase a new gas tank with a push-fit connection, or you can source a new 37mBar regulator with a screw-on connection (like this).
Once you have the new regulator, you can attach it onto the Ooni-supplied hose by following the steps below:
- Step 1. Loosen the jubilee clip on your Ooni-supplied gas hose (the metal ring).
- Step 2. Soften up the edge of the hose by warming it with a hair dryer or dipping the hose in hot water for 10 seconds.
- Step 3. Once you have softened the hose, pull the Ooni-supplied regulator off.
- Step 4. Replace the Ooni regulator with the new screw-on regulator.
- Step 5. Replace the jubilee clip and tighten them so there’s an airtight seal around the hose and valve.
- Step 6. Make sure there are no leaks in your gas hose by using a leak detector spray or by using soapy water (full instructions on how to do a gas leak test here).
If you'd like, you can also purchase a whole new gas hose and regulator (like this). Just make sure the hose is between 0.9m (90cm) and 1.2m (120cm). This is the length our products are certified for and it also ensures best performance.
