How do I clean my Ooni Karu 2 (formerly Karu 12G)?

Note: always wear protective gloves when handling and cleaning your oven.

To clean the outside: Let the oven cool down completely and use a dry paper towel to wipe away soot. For tougher stains, clean with soapy water and dry immediately.

To clean the glass door: Let the oven cool down completely. Start by wiping down the glass with a dry paper towel. Available in the UK, the Ooni Glass Cleaner is perfect for this. Alternatively, mix a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water and wipe down with a rag. Let it sit for 5 minutes. Then, use the coarse side of a sponge to clean the glass with the solution. Rinse the glass with water. Use paper towels to dry the glass completely.

To clean the inside: Let the oven cool down completely. If you’ve used solid fuels, remove the fuel tray and dispose of any cooled ashes. You can use the Ooni Pizza Oven Brush to clean excess soot from the fuel tray and a dry paper towel to wipe away soot from the chimney. Avoid using water to clean the inside of your oven.

To clean the baking stone: Let the oven cool down completely. Scrape off stubborn bits of food with the Ooni Pizza Oven Brush. Flip your stone over and reinsert it for the next cook. The heat from the oven will be enough to burn off any remaining residue.Let the oven cool down completely.

Don't clean your stone with water as it will damage it.
