What type of flour is best to use when making pizza?

There are many different styles of pizza, and the type of flour you use will depend on the style of pizza you're making.

For a classic Neapolitan-style pizza, it's best to use 'type 0' or 'type 00' flour. Both of these flours are very finely ground which means they'll produce a light, airy crust.


Grind sizes vary from 00 (finest) to 2 (coarsest).
