What is a regulator and which one do I need?

A regulator regulates gas flow from your gas tank in to your gas-fired productIf there was no regulator, gas would flow from the propane tank super quickly and you'd have to buy lots of tanks to get your oven fired up.

There are two questions you need to answer before you choose the right model and regulator for you:

- what mBar pressure is common in my area?

- what fitting is on the top of gas bottles in my area?

Different regions and countries use different gas bottles with different connections. The regulators which we provide are region specific and so it is important when ordering one of our gas products to ensure that you select the model which is compatible for the region which you wish to use your product.

Regulators are classified into different groups depending on the millibar (mBar) of pressure which they will release when in use. We provide 28mBar, 30mBar, 37mBar and 50mBar regulators for our Ooni gas products.

As well as regulating to different mBar pressures, regulators can also be a different shape and size. In other words, not all 30mBar regulators are the same and neither are 28mBar, 27mBar or 50mBar.

Please note that our gas products themselves are also region specific and so changing the regulator will not make a product function in a region which it has not been designed for use in. For example, putting a US regulator on a UK Ooni Koda model will not make this model suitable for use in the US.

Listed above are the regulators which we ship and the countries which they are compatible for use in. If your country is seen for more than one of these millibars, please check in with your local hardware or appliance store in order to determine which gas tanks are available to you in your area.
